Reduce Plastic Bag Pollution, Belmont!

The Massachusetts chapter worked with local activists to help Belmont pass a law that aims to reduce plastic bag use.

The chapter submitted a letter of testimony and gave talk at a public forum about bag laws. A core volunteer who lives in Belmont was actively involved.

The ordinance passed on April 30, 2018, and goes into effect for retail establishments over 30k square feet on November 1, 2018, and all other retailers, on February 1, 2019.
