Ban the Bag, Everett, MA!

The MA Chapter is working with a member who lives close to Everett to get a good single-use bag policy passed.

At this time, Everett, MA city council has declined to take action on disposable plastic bags. While this is a disappointing outcome, the MA Chapter continues to work to advance local legislation to reduce unnecessary pollution from disposable items, as well as to advocate for strong statewide legislation to ban film plastic and promote reusable alternatives. The Chapter is now working with the Everett City Council to try to advance an ordinance with a fee on paper bags; the currently proposed ordinance only addresses plastic.
