The Jersey Shore Chapter seeks to ban the intentional release of balloons in Asbury Park, NJ
The Jersey Shore Chapter wants to ban the intentional release of balloons in Asbury Park as it has been done in many other NJ towns. Asbury Park is a major attraction and destination and there is a real risk of groups having specialty events doing balloon releases as part of their festivities.
Initially the City did not think this was a problem at all, but as we worked with them on bag legislation thier minds changed. In late summer they introdued the ordinance. And finally in late September of 2018 the ordinance had its second reading and passed.
